Seven Principles of Ma'at

the Ancient Egyptian Seven Principles of Ma'at are Truth, Justice, Harmony, Balance, Order, Reciprocity, and Propriety. It was expected that the priests, Pharaohs and their families embody these principles, along with every member of the community. These principals will be a part of the culture on the Columbus Africentric Early College Football Team.

Truth - The ability to understand the difference between the real and the unreal and be honest with each other. Everyone is important and deserving of respect and honor.

Justice - There will be equity for all that are a part of CAEC football. Equity means that all have equal opportunity for basic needs to be met , to come together in peace, to fully and meaningfully participate and contribute to the team, to offer gifts, talents, and or essence, toward the good of the whole.

Harmony - The state in which different people move together in ways that create alignment. It is only through authenticity that harmony can truly be achieved, and occur naturally when each of us is all in for the greater good of the team.

Balance - To win we have to balance more than just football skills. We need to balance discipline, dedication to doing well in school and also football. If we can do that then we will have success on and off the field.

Order - We will operate in an orderly fashion. We will follow the code of conduct at all times, we will follow a schedule and we mindful of the rules in all places that we go, the football field, the classroom, at home, etc.

Reciprocity - Reciprocity is the reality that what comes around, goes around. We will do things the right way at all times. There are no short cuts. When you have good intentions and are deliberate in your actions then good will come to you.

Propriety - means to be and to do what is right, according to the truth that all deserve to exist. On the CAEC football team we will not purposely harm anyone physically , verbally or mentally.
